- Integral Switch Performance

Circuit/System Description

The radio monitors the button presses on the Radio/HVAC control. The radio will ignore any stuck buttons and allow full functionality of the working buttons. The only circuit required is the serial data line between the radio and the Radio/HVAC control.

Conditions for Running DTC

* System voltage is between 9-16 volts.
* Ignition switch is in the ON position.

Conditions for Setting DTC

This DTC is generated by the radio if a button is active for a period greater than 60 seconds.

Action Taken When DTC Sets

* The radio ignores continuous inputs from the button.
* The radio will respond to all other valid button inputs.

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

* The condition for setting the DTC is no longer present.
* The history DTC will clear after 50 fault-free ignition cycles.

Circuit/System Verification

1. Inspect the Radio/HVAC control buttons for signs of damage or foreign objects. Operate each of the Radio/HVAC control buttons and verify that the buttons have a smooth operation.

If the buttons do not have a smooth operation, replace the Radio/HVAC control.

2. Verify DTC 1023 is not set.

If the DTC is set, clear the DTC. If the DTC resets, replace the Radio/HVAC control.

Repair Instructions

Perform the Diagnostic Repair Verification (Verification Tests) after completing the diagnostic procedure.
