Hood Hinge Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Apply tape to the corners of the panels and adjacent surfaces.

Note: When a suitable hold open device is being removed or installed, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of damage to the vehicle or personal injury.

2. Remove the hood. Refer to Hood Replacement (Service and Repair).
3. Remove the air inlet grille panel. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement (Service and Repair).




4. Remove the hood hinge to dash and cowl panel brace retaining bolts (1).
5. Remove the hood hinge (2) from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the hood hinge (2) to the vehicle.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

2. Install the hood hinge to dash and cowl panel brace retaining bolts (1) and tighten to 20 Nm (15 lb ft).
3. Install the air inlet grille panel. Refer to Air Inlet Grille Panel Replacement (Service and Repair).
4. Install the hood. Refer to Hood Replacement (Service and Repair).
5. Adjust the hood as necessary. Refer to Hood Adjustment (Adjustments).
6. Carefully remove the tape from the corners of the panels and adjacent surfaces.
