Seat Cushion Outer Trim Panel Replacement

Removal Procedure

Warning: Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning (Battery Disconnect Warning).

1. Disconnect the battery ground cable from the battery. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the front bucket seat. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket (Front Seat Replacement - Bucket).
3. Remove the front seat back adjuster. Refer to Front Seat Adjuster Replacement (Front Seat Adjuster Replacement).
4. Remove the front seat belt tensioner. Refer to Driver and Passenger Seat Belt Tensioner Replacement.




5. Lift the rear of the outer trim panel (1) and pry away from the seat frame assembly (2).
6. Press the trim panel retaining tangs (3) downward and slide the trim (1) panel towards the front of the seat frame assembly (2).
7. Slightly remove the outer trim panel (1) without stretching the power seat switch electrical harness (4).




8. Disconnect the power seat switch electrical connector (1).
9. Remove the power seat switch. Refer to Power Seat Switch Replacement (Service and Repair).
10. Completely remove the outer trim panel.

Installation Procedure




1. Connect the power seat switch electrical connector (1).
2. Install the power seat switch. Refer to Power Seat Switch Replacement (Service and Repair).
3. Align the outer trim panel with the seat frame assembly.




Warning: Refer to Battery Disconnect Warning (Battery Disconnect Warning).

4. Align the outer trim panel (1) with the seat frame assembly (2), correctly routing the power seat switch electrical harness (4) into the seat frame assembly.
5. Applying suitable rearward pressure to the outer trim panel (1) and engaging the trim panel retaining tangs (3) into the seat frame assembly (2) , install the outer trim panel (1).
6. Install the front seat back adjuster. Refer to Front Seat Adjuster Replacement (Front Seat Adjuster Replacement).
7. Install the front seat belt tensioner. Refer to Driver and Passenger Seat Belt Tensioner Replacement.
8. Install the front bucket seat. Refer to Front Seat Replacement - Bucket (Front Seat Replacement - Bucket).
9. Connect the battery ground cable from the battery. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection (Service and Repair).
