Radiator Outlet Hose Replacement (3.6L)
Removal Procedure
1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (3.6 L) (Service and Repair)Cooling System Draining and Filling (6.0 L) (Service and Repair).
Warning: Refer to Safety Glasses Warning (Safety Glasses Warning).
Note: If outlet hose (1) is not being replaced, leave retaining clamp (2) attached to outlet hose.
2. Release the retaining hose clamp (1) and remove the outlet hose (2).
Danger: To avoid any vehicle damage, serious personal injury or death when major components are removed from the vehicle and the vehicle is supported by a hoist, support the vehicle with jack stands at the opposite end from which the components are being removed and strap the vehicle to the hoist.
3. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair).
4. Remove the air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement (Service and Repair).
Note: If outlet hose (1) is not being replaced, leave retaining clamp (2) attached to hose.
Note: Access to the outlet hose is restricted. Removal of the cooling fans will aid access. Refer to Cooling Fan and Shroud Replacement (Service and Repair).
5. Remove the outlet hose (1) by releasing the retaining hose clamp (2).
Installation Procedure
Caution: Refer to Installing Hoses without Twists or Bends Caution (Installing Hoses without Twists or Bends Caution).
1. Install the outlet hose (1) and secure it with the retaining hose clamp (2).
2. Install the air deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement (Service and Repair).
3. Lower the vehicle.
Warning: Refer to Safety Glasses Warning (Safety Glasses Warning).
4. Secure the outlet hose (2) by opening the retaining hose clamp (1) and sliding it over the hose (2).
5. Install the radiator air baffle and deflector. Refer to Radiator Air Upper Baffle and Deflector Replacement (Service and Repair).
6. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling (3.6 L) (Service and Repair)Cooling System Draining and Filling (6.0 L) (Service and Repair).
7. Inspect cooling system for leaks.
