Engine Mount Bracket Replacement - Left Side

Removal Procedure

Warning: Refer to Safety Glasses Warning (Safety Glasses Warning).


Danger: To avoid any vehicle damage, serious personal injury or death when major components are removed from the vehicle and the vehicle is supported by a hoist, support the vehicle with jack stands at the opposite end from which the components are being removed and strap the vehicle to the hoist.


1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the engine splash shield. Refer to Engine Splash Shield Replacement (Service and Repair).




3. Remove the lower engine mount retaining nuts (1).
4. Lower the vehicle.




5. Position the EN 46114 (2) on the engine (1).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

6. Install the EN 46114 using the cylinder head retaining bolts (3) and tighten to 50 Nm (36 lb ft).

Note: Use a suitable tool to raise the engine.

Note: When lifting the engine assembly, observe the clearance between the rear of the engine assembly and the dash panel.

7. Raise the engine until the weight of the engine is removed from the left hand engine mount.




8. Remove the left hand engine mount to engine mount bracket retaining nut (3).

Note: If required raise the engine further to provide adequate space.

Note: When lifting the engine assembly, observe the clearance between the rear of the engine assembly and the dash panel.

9. Remove the left hand engine mount (5) from the left hand engine mount bracket (1).

Note: DO NOT distort or bend the left hand engine mount heat shield (4).

10. Remove the left hand engine mount bracket to cylinder block retaining bolts (2).
11. Remove the left hand engine mount bracket (1).

Installation Procedure





Note: DO NOT distort or bend the left hand engine mount heat shield (4).

1. Install the left hand engine mount bracket (1).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

2. Install the left hand engine mount bracket using the cylinder block retaining bolts (2) and tighten to 60 Nm (44 lb ft).
3. Position the left hand engine mount (5) on the left hand engine mount bracket (1).
4. Install the left hand engine mount using the engine mount bracket retaining nut (3) and tighten to 80 Nm (59 lb ft).
5. Lower the engine until the weight is resting on the left hand engine mount.

6. Raise the vehicle.




7. Install the engine mount using the front subframe retaining nut (1) and tighten to 80 Nm (59 lb ft).
8. Install the engine splash shield. Refer to Engine Splash Shield Replacement (Service and Repair).
9. Lower the vehicle to the ground.




10. Remove the EN 46114 to cylinder head retaining bolts (3).
11. Remove the EN 46114 (2) from the engine (1).
