Oil Level Indicator Tube Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Turn the ignition OFF.
2. Remove the oil level indicator tube bracket to cylinder head retaining bolt (2).
3. Remove the oil level indicator (1) from the oil level indicator tube (3).
Warning: Refer to Safety Glasses Warning (Safety Glasses Warning).
Danger: To avoid any vehicle damage, serious personal injury or death when major components are removed from the vehicle and the vehicle is supported by a hoist, support the vehicle with jack stands at the opposite end from which the components are being removed and strap the vehicle to the hoist.
4. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair).
5. Remove the knock sensor. Refer to Knock Sensor Replacement - Bank 2 (Service and Repair).
6. Lower the vehicle.
7. Remove the oil level indicator tube (1) up through the exhaust manifold (2).
8. If you are replacing only the oil level indicator tube seal, remove and discard the old seal.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the oil level indicator and tube. Refer to Oil Level Indicator and Tube Installation (Overhaul).

3. Install the knock sensor. Refer to Knock Sensor Replacement - Bank 2 (Service and Repair).
4. Lower the vehicle.
