Crankshaft Balancer Installation

Installation




1. The EN 46106 - tool (1) must be installed.





Note: DO NOT lubricate the crankshaft front oil seal or crankshaft balancer sealing surfaces. The crankshaft balancer is installed into a dry seal.

2. Apply lubricant to the inside of the crankshaft balancer hub bore.





Note: Make sure the key (1) located on the top of the crankshaft is correctly installed in the crankshaft. Failure to adhere to this may cause engine damage.

3. Install the crankshaft balancer (2) on to the crankshaft (3).




4. Install the crankshaft balancer to crankshaft retaining bolt (1).

* Tighten the bolt to 100 Nm (74 lb ft).
* Tighten the crankshaft balancer to crankshaft retaining bolt an additional 150 degrees using the J 45059 - meter.




5. Remove the EN 46106 - tool (1).
