Secondary Timing Chain Tensioner Removal - Right Side




1. Remove the right secondary camshaft drive chain tensioner to cylinder block retaining bolts (1).
2. Remove the right secondary camshaft drive chain tensioner (2).





Important: The right secondary camshaft drive chain tensioner gasket (2) must be discarded whenever the right secondary camshaft drive chain tensioner (1) has been removed from the cylinder block.


3. Remove the right secondary camshaft drive chain tensioner gasket (1) from the right secondary camshaft drive chain tensioner (2).
Discard the gasket.
4. Inspect the right secondary camshaft drive chain tensioner mounting surface on the right cylinder head for burrs or any defects that may degrade the sealing of the NEW right secondary camshaft drive chain tensioner gasket.
