Secondary Timing Chain Tensioner Removal - Left Side




1. Remove the left secondary camshaft drive chain tensioner to cylinder block retaining bolts (1).
2. Remove the left secondary camshaft drive chain tensioner (2).





Important: The left secondary camshaft drive chain tensioner gasket must be discarded whenever the left secondary camshaft drive chain tensioner has been removed from the cylinder block.


3. Remove left secondary camshaft drive chain tensioner gasket from the left secondary camshaft drive chain tensioner.
Discard the gasket.
4. Inspect the left secondary camshaft drive chain tensioner mounting surface on the left cylinder head for burrs or any defects that may degrade the sealing of the NEW left secondary camshaft drive chain tensioner gasket.
