Intake Manifold Disassemble

Upper to Lower Intake Manifold Disassemble Procedure




1. Remove the upper-to-lower intake manifold retaining bolts (1).




2. Remove the fuel injector wiring harness bracket to upper intake manifold retaining bolt (1).




3. Remove the upper intake manifold (1) from the lower intake manifold (2).





Important: DO NOT reuse the upper-to-lower intake manifold gasket and the intake manifold-to-cylinder head sealing gaskets.


4. Remove the upper-to-lower intake manifold gaskets (1).
Discard the upper-to-lower intake manifold gaskets (1).

Upper Intake Manifold Disassemble Procedure




1. Remove the throttle body bolts to upper intake manifold retaining bolts (1).
2. Remove the throttle body (2).

Important: The throttle body gasket (3) must be discarded whenever the throttle body (2) has been removed from the upper intake manifold (4).


3. Remove the throttle body gasket (3).
Discard the gasket




4. Remove the Intake Manifold Runner Control (IMRC) flap to upper intake manifold retaining bolts (2).
5. Remove the IMRC flap (1).




6. Remove the sight shield ball studs (1).

Lower Intake Manifold Disassemble Procedure




1. Remove the fuel injector wiring harness (1).




2. Remove the fuel injector rail to lower intake manifold retaining bolts (1).
3. Remove the fuel injector rail (2).
