Camshaft Position Sensor Replacement - Bank 1 (Right Side) Exhaust

Removal Procedure

1. Turn the ignition OFF.

Note: Do not remove the engine control module (ECM) from the ECM bracket.

2. Remove the remote earth post bracket to engine front cover retaining bolts and reposition the remote earth post bracket in order to provide access.




3. Remove the camshaft position (CMP) sensor electrical connector (1) from the CMP sensor (2).




4. Remove the CMP sensor to engine front cover retaining bolt (1).
5. Remove the CMP sensor (2) from the engine front cover.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the CMP sensor (2) to the engine front cover.

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

2. Install the CMP sensor to engine front cover retaining bolt (1) and tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb in).




3. Install the CMP sensor electrical connector (1) to the CMP sensor (2).
4. Install the remote earth post bracket to engine front cover retaining bolts and tighten to 10 Nm (89 lb in).
