Stabilizer Shaft Insulator Replacement

Removal Procedure

Warning: Refer to Safety Glasses Warning (Safety Glasses Warning).


Danger: To avoid any vehicle damage, serious personal injury or death when major components are removed from the vehicle and the vehicle is supported by a hoist, support the vehicle with jack stands at the opposite end from which the components are being removed and strap the vehicle to the hoist.


1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair).





Note: Make sure the stabilizer bar is suitably supported while being removed to avoid personal injury.

2. Remove the stabilizer bar insulator bracket to subframe retaining bolts (4) on both sides of the stabilizer bar (1).
3. Remove the stabilizer bar insulator bracket (3) from the subframe on both sides of the stabilizer bar (1).
4. Remove the stabilizer bar insulator (2) from both sides of the stabilizer bar (1).
5. Inspect all parts for wear and damage.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the stabilizer bar insulator (2) to both sides of the stabilizer bar (1).
2. Install the stabilizer bar insulator bracket (3) to the subframe on both sides of the stabilizer bar (1).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

3. Install the stabilizer bar insulator bracket to subframe retaining bolts (4) on both sides of the stabilizer bar (1) and tighten to 22 Nm (16 lb ft).
4. Remove the safety stands.
5. Lower the vehicle to the ground.
