Hood Insulator Replacement

Removal Procedure





Important: When a suitable hold open device is being removed or installed, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of damage to the vehicle or personal injury.


1. Open the engine compartment hood and support with a suitable brace.
2. Remove the underside covers of the two hood scoop mouldings (1) from the engine compartment hood (2).




3. Remove the hood insulator to hood push-in retainers (1).
Discard the retainers.
4. Remove the hood insulator (2) from the engine compartment hood (3).

Installation Procedure





Important: When a suitable hold open device is being removed or installed, provide alternate support to avoid the possibility of damage to the vehicle or personal injury.


Important: Always use NEW push-in retainers.


1. Install the hood insulator (1) onto the engine compartment hood (2) ensuring the lower edge of the hood insulator (3) is engaged into the retaining tabs (4) on the engine compartment hood (2).




2. Install push-in retainers (1) through the hood insulator (2), engaging into engine compartment hood (3).




3. Install the underside covers of the two hood scoop mouldings (1) onto the engine compartment hood (2).
4. Remove the suitable hood brace from the vehicle and close the engine compartment hood.
