Door Lock Cylinder Replacement
Removal Procedure
Note: Do not attempt repairs in order to correct lock cylinder discrepancies. Replace the lock cylinder.
1. Remove the door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement (Service and Repair).
2. Pull the rear half of the water deflector away from the drivers door panel in order to access the door lock cylinder.
3. Remove the lock actuating rod (1) from the lock cylinder (2).
Note: Remove the rubber blanking grommet to expose lock cylinder retaining bolt (1).
4. Remove the lock cylinder to outside door handle retaining bolt (1).
5. Remove the lock cylinder (2) from the outside door handle (1).
Installation Procedure
1. Position the lock cylinder (2) to the outside door handle (1).
Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).
2. Install the lock cylinder to outside door handle retaining bolt (1) and tighten to 4 Nm (35 lb in).
3. Install the rubber blanking grommet to the door.
Note: The lock actuating rod (2) pushes into the lock cylinder retaining clip (1).
4. Install the lock actuating rod (1) to the lock cylinder retaining clip (2) (if fitted).
Note: Firmly press the water deflector where adhesive is applied to make sure water tight bond.
5. Install the rear half of the water deflector to the door panel.
6. Install the door trim panel. Refer to Front Side Door Trim Panel Replacement (Service and Repair).
