13. Intake Manifold Removal




Intake Manifold Removal





Note: The intake manifold, throttle body, fuel injection rail, and fuel injectors may be removed as an assembly. If not servicing the individual components, remove the manifold as a complete assembly.

Note: Removal of the intake manifold to cylinder head retaining bolts (1-10) should be performed in sequence. Failing to do so may distort the intake manifold (B).

1. Remove the intake manifold to cylinder head retaining bolts (A) in sequence.




2. Remove the intake manifold (1) from the engine (2).
3. Plug the engine (2) with a clean lint free cloth.




4. Remove the intake manifold to cylinder head gaskets (1).
Discard the intake manifold to cylinder head gaskets (1).
5. Clean and inspect the intake manifold. Refer to Intake Manifold Cleaning and Inspection (Overhaul).
