Air Conditioning Compressor Belt Replacement
Removal Procedure
1. Remove the accessory drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement - Accessory (Service and Repair).
2. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair).
3. Remove the Front Air Deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement (Service and Repair).
4. Using a suitable tool, rotate the air conditioner (A/C) belt tensioner (2) clockwise.
5. Remove the A/C belt (1).
6. Slowly release the A/C belt tensioner (2).
7. Clean and inspect the belt surfaces of all the pulleys.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the A/C belt (1) around the crankshaft balancer (2).
2. Using a suitable tool, rotate the A/C belt tensioner (3) clockwise.
3. Install the A/C belt (1) over the A/C belt tensioner (3) idler pulley.
4. Install the A/C belt (1) around the A/C compressor pulley (4).
5. Slowly release the tension on the A/C belt tensioner (3).
6. Inspect the A/C belt (1) for correct installation and alignment.
7. Install the Front Air Deflector. Refer to Front Air Deflector Replacement (Service and Repair).
8. Lower the vehicle.
9. Install the accessory drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement - Accessory (Service and Repair).
