4th Clutch Assembly Assemble

J 45186 Forward and Direct Clutch Spring Compressor




1. Coat the 4th clutch piston with ATF WS, and install it to the 4th clutch piston housing.




2. Install the piston return spring to the 4th clutch housing.




3. Install the clutch guide to the 4th clutch housing.




4. Compress the piston return spring with a press and J 45186 (1).

Note: Be sure the end gap of the snap ring is not aligned with the clutch balancer claw.

5. Using a snap ring expander, install the snap ring to the 4th clutch housing.





Note: The end gap of the snap ring should not coincide with any of the stopper (1).

6. Set the end gap of the snap ring (1) in the 4th clutch housing.




7. Coat the new O-ring with ATF WS, and install it to the 4th clutch housing.





Note:
* P = Plate (3)
* D = Disc (2)
* F = Flange (1)

8. Install the plates, discs and flange to the 4th clutch housing.
Make sure you install in order - P-D-P-D-P-D-F




9. Using a screwdriver, install the 4th clutch snap ring.
10. Check that the end gap of the snap ring is not aligned with one of the cutouts.
