4th Clutch Assembly Disassemble




1. Remove the 4th clutch housing, thrust bearing and bearing race from the transaxle.




2. Using a screwdriver, pry out the 4th clutch housing snap ring.




3. Remove the flange, discs and plates from the 4th clutch housing.




4. Remove the 4th clutch housing O-ring.




5. Using a press and suitable adapter (1), compress the clutch spring.
6. Using a snap ring expander, remove the snap ring.




7. Remove the clutch balancer from the 4th clutch piston.




8. Remove the piston return spring from the 4th clutch housing.




9. Install the 4th clutch housing to the transaxle case.
10. Holding the 4th clutch housing with your hand, apply compressed air to the transaxle case to remove the 4th clutch piston.
