Checking Water Leakage - Front Rail Seal/ Windshield
SUBJECT # 19:CHECKING FOR WATER LEAKAGE BETWEEN FRONT RAIL SEAL AND WINDSHIELD FRAME SEAL
APPLICATION:
VIN SERIAL NOS. S7000216-S7000689
VIN SERIAL NOS. S7000839-S7000871
This check is to be carried out on cars which have had the windshield frame weatherseal replaced (Subject # 2). Take corrective action as described below, If necessary.
The top should be fully raised, the header latches in the first bow closed, the doors closed and the windows raised.

1. Hose the area in question with water. Do not use a high pressure spray.
See Figure 34.A above.
2. Check whether water leaks into the car's interior. If it does, proceed as follows:
a. Undo the nuts securing the front rail's seal retaining channel. See Figure 34.B above.
b. Adjust by bending the leading edge of the retaining channel outwards. When the top is closed, there should be no gap between the seal and the windshield frame seal. See Figure 34.C above.
c. Tighten the nuts.
