Secondary Air Injection Relay Circuit. Short to B+







Fault symptoms
- CHECK ENGINE
- The secondary air injection pump will not start.

Type of diagnosis
Activated by secondary air supply.

Conditions
The following conditions apply for this DTC:
- Enable criteria. Battery voltage above 10 Volts.
- Voltage 12 V

Diagnostic help
Fault diagnosis concerns an electrical fault in the connecting leads or in the secondary air injection pump relay.


Diagnostic tool functions related to this fault are:
- Activation of SAI pump.
- Activation of diagnostics, secondary air injection.


Check the wiring
Jiggle the leads and in-line connectors at various points and in different directions to detect any intermittent breaks or short circuits in the wiring. Observe the multimeter, test lamp or diagnostic tool while doing this.
