TCS Lamp Does Not Come On
Fault symptoms
Lamp test is conducted when ignition turned on. TCS indicator lamp should be on for about 3 seconds. TCS indicator lamp does not come on.
Conditions
Bus communication must be functioning. See System overview, refer to Description and Operation.
Diagnostic help
The TCS lamp can be activated with the diagnostic tool.
- Select "Activate"
- Select "TCS Lamp"
Diagnostic procedure
1. Check TCS Lamp Functionality
Unplug the connector
^ TC/ABS control module (382)
^ Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
Go To Step 2
2. Check TCS Lamp Functionality
^ Connect a jumper lead between pins 19 and 28 of the female connector.
^ The TCS lamp should light up.
Is the function correct?
NO
Go To Step 3
YES
Go To Step 5
3. Checking The Lead
^ Check the lead between pin 28 of the TC/ABS control module and pin 13 of the MIU (K20).
Is the wiring OK?
NO
Go To Step 4
YES
Go To Step 6
4. Rectifying The Lead
^ Repair or replace the lead
When repair is complete:
Go To Step 7
5. Check TCS Lamp Functionality
Check the control module connector for moisture, corrosion and displaced pins.
Correct as necessary:
Go To Step 7
6. Checking The Lead
Continue with fault diagnosis on the MIU.
Refer to Instrument Panel, Gauges and Warning Indicators
7. Final Check
^ Clear the diagnostic trouble codes in all systems
^ Carry out a functionality test.
Is the function correct?
NO
Go To Step 8
YES
Go To Step 9
8. Final Check
See Before changing a control module, refer to General Fault Diagnosis.
^ Diagnosis for this fault code is complete.
9. Final Check
The steps taken to correct the fault were correct.
^ Diagnosis is complete.
