Hydraulic Body Recondition
To Dismantle
1. Remove the hydraulic body.
2. Remove the brake pads.
3. Clean the hydraulic body.
4. Press out the brake piston with compressed air through the hose coupling. Use a brake pad as a stop.
WARNING: Mind your fingers as the brake piston flies out.
5. Remove the dust cap and piston seal.
6. Check for damage due to wear.
To Assemble
1. Lubricate the piston sealing ring with the grease supplied in the kit. Also pack the dust cap with grease.
2. Fit the new piston seal in the brake cylinder's inner groove.
3. Fit the dust cap over the brake piston.
4. Press the dust cap's collar into the brake cylinder's outer groove.
5. Press the piston into the brake cylinder by such an amount that the dust cap fastens in the brake piston's groove.
6. Fit the brake pads.
IMPORTANT: The outboard brake pads are different on the left-hand and right-hand sides. The pads should be fitted with the metal acoustic warning strip facing downwards.
7. Fit the hydraulic body.
