Transmission Mount: Service and Repair

Transmission Mounting System
REMOVAL
PITCHING STOPPER
Disconnect the ground cable from battery.
Remove the air intake duct. (Saab 9-2X 2.5i Linear)
Remove the air cleaner case. (Saab 9-2X 2.5i Linear)
Remove the intercooler. (Saab 9-2X 2.0T Aero)
Remove the pitching stopper.





CROSSMEMBER AND CUSHION RUBBER
Disconnect the ground cable from battery.
lack-up the vehicle and support it with sturdy racks.
Remove the front and center exhaust pipes. (Saab 9-2X 2.5i Linear)
Remove the center exhaust pipe. (Saab 9-2X 2.0T Aero)
Remove the rear exhaust pipe and muffler.
Remove the heat shield cover. (If equipped)
Set the transmission jack under the transmission body.

Important: Always support the transmission case with a transmission jack.

Remove the rear crossmember.





Remove the rear cushion rubber.

INSTALLATION
PITCHING STOPPER
Install the pitching stopper.
Tightening torque:
T1: 50 Nm (5.1 kgf-m, 37 ft. lbs.)
T2: 58 Nm (5.9 kgf-m, 43 ft. lbs.)





Install the air intake duct and cleaner case. (Saab 9-2X 2.5i Linear)
and
Install the intercooler. (Saab 9-2X 2.0T Aero)
Connect the battery ground cable to battery.

CROSSMEMBER AND CUSHION RUBBER
Install the rear cushion rubber.
Tightening torque: 35 Nm (3.6 kgf-m, 26 ft. lbs.)
Install the rear crossmember.
Tightening torque:
T1: 70 Nm (7.1 kgf-m, 51 ft. lbs.)
T2: 140 Nm (14.3 kgf-m, 103 ft. lbs.)





Remove the transmission jack.
Install the heat shield cover. (If equipped)
Install the front and center exhaust pipes. (Saab 9-2X 2.5i Linear)
Install the center exhaust pipe. (Saab 9-2X 2.0T Aero)
Install the rear exhaust pipe and muffler.
