The gearbox construction allows for alternative gear ratios, both for gears between in and output shaft and final drive gear. In Saab 9-3, the gearbox is available in two variants with the following final drive gear ratios for good performance and good driving economy with the engine in question.
^ 4.05 for engine alternative B207L
^ 3.82 for engine alternative D223L
