Lower Radiator Hose

The cooling system is under pressure. Hot coolant and steam can escape.
^ Open the cap slowly to release the pressure.
^ Carelessness can cause eye and burn injuries
Important
Always use wing covers when working in the engine bay.
To remove
1. Undo the expansion tank cap and release the pressure.
2. Remove the Spoiler shield, front.
3. Place a receptacle under the car, connect a hose and drain the cooling system.
4. Remove the lower radiator mounting on the left side. Detach the radiator hose from the radiator.
5. Lower the car.
6. Remove Battery and Battery cover, bottom section (B284).
7. Detach the turbocharger delivery hose from the turbocharger.
8. Detach the radiator hose from the thermostat housing pipe.
To fit
1. Attach the radiator hose to the thermostat housing pipe.
2. Attach the turbocharger delivery hose to the turbocharger. Twist the recess on the hose until it aligns with the marking on the turbocharger pipe connection.
3. Fit the Battery cover, lower section and Battery.
4. Raise the car.
5. Fit the radiator hose with clamp to the radiator.
6. Fit the lower radiator mounting on the left side.
Tightening torque 47 Nm (35 lbf ft)
7. Fit the Spoiler shield, front.
8. Lower the car.
9. Pressure test the cooling system, see Cooling system, pressure testing. Component Tests and General Diagnostics
10. Top up coolant.
11. If the battery has been disconnected, see Procedure after reconnecting the battery.
