Power Steering Fluid Cooler: Service and Repair
Power Steering Fluid Cooler Replacement (Except 4.2L)
Removal Procedure
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair).
2. Place drain pan under vehicle.
3. Remove the front fascia. Refer to Front Bumper Upper Fascia Replacement ().
4. Disconnect the power steering cooler hoses from the power steering cooler.
5. Remove the power steering cooler mounting bolts.
6. Remove the power steering cooler from the radiator support.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the power steering cooler to the radiator support.
Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice).
2. Install the power steering cooler mounting bolts.
Tighten the power steering cooler mounting bolts to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.).
3. Connect the power steering cooler hoses to the power steering cooler.
4. Install the front fascia. Refer to Front Bumper Upper Fascia Replacement ().
5. Remove the drain pan from under the vehicle.
6. Lower the vehicle.
7. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding (Service and Repair).
