Canister Purge Solenoid: Service and Repair

The EVAP canister purge solenoid is located to the rear of the engine block, below the [1][2]intake manifold, and above the starter solenoid.

REMOVAL
1. Position vehicle on hoist.
2. Raise to a comfortable working height
3. Disconnect wiring connector from solenoid.
4. Disconnect vacuum source hose from solenoid, also disconnect canister purge line quick connect.
5. Remove purge solenoid attachment screw (10 mm hex) and remove solenoid from vehicle.

INSTALLATION:
1. Install EVAP canister purge solenoid to engine block with attachment screw (10 mm hex).

Torque: 22 NM (16 ft. lbs)

NOTICE: Make sure that female connector is seated and "click" is beard. Pull back to confirm engagement.

2. Connect purge line quick connect (L.H. port) and vacuum source hose to solenoid.
3. Connect wiring harness to solenoid.
