Positive Crankcase Ventilation Valve: Service and Repair

PCV Valve Location:

An engine that is operated without any crankcase ventilation can be damaged. Therefore, it is important to replace the PCV valve when it fails a diagnostic check. It must be replaced with the correct part number valve. Also, inspect the hoses and clamps for deterioration, along with the grommet that holds the PCV valve, and replace as needed.

REMOVAL
1. Disconnect PCV valve from cam cover.
2. Disconnect valve from hose to [1][2]intake manifold.

INSTALLATION
1. Connect PCV valve to intake hose and secure with clamp.
2. Install PCV valve to cam cover grommet and hose to [1][2]intake manifold fitting.
