Possible Points of Oil Leakage
1. Transaxle valve body cover:a. Attaching bolts not correctly torqued.
b. Improperly installed or damaged gasket.
c. Valve Body cover or mounting face not flat.
d. Solenoid connector seal missing.
2. Case leak:
a. Filler tube O-ring damaged or missing.
b. Manual shaft seal damaged.
c. Oil cooler fittings loose or damaged.
d. Axle seals worn or damaged.
e. Case-to-converter housing gasket damaged.
f. Porous casting.
g. Rear cover to case gasket damaged.
h. Input shaft hub retaining bolts leaking.
i. Pressure filter seal damaged.
j. Sensor loose or damaged O-ring.
3. Leak at converter end:
a. Converter seal damaged.
1. Seal lip cut. Check converter hub for damage.
b. Converter leak in weld area.
1. Replace converter.
c. Porous converter housing casting.
4. Fluid comes out of fill tube:
a. Over-filled.
b. Water or coolant in fluid. Fluid will appear milky.
c. Case porous.
d. Plugged vent.
