Backing Plate: Service and Repair

REMOVAL





1. Disassemble rear drum brakes.
2. Disconnect brake hose at wheel cylinder and remove wheel cylinder.
3. Remove parking brake cable.
4. Remove four hub and bearing assembly-to-knuckle bolts and remove hub and bearing assembly and backing plate from knuckle.

INSTALLATION
1. Position hub and bearing assembly and backing plate to knuckle and install four fasteners.
2. Install parking brake cable.
Torque: 85 Nm (63 ft. lbs.)
3. Install wheel cylinder and brake hose.
4. Completely assemble rear drum brakes.
