Brake Hose Replacement

REMOVAL

CAUTION: MAKE SURE VEHICLE IS PROPERLY SUPPORTED AND SQUARELY POSITIONED ON HOIST. TO HELP AVOID PERSONAL INJURY, PROVIDE ADDITIONAL SUPPORT TO THE OPPOSITE END OF THE VEHICLE THAT COMPONENTS WILL BE REMOVED FROM.





1. Raise vehicle on hoist.
2. Remove road wheel.
3. Disconnect brake hose from caliper or wheel cylinder. Plug opening in caliper or wheel cylinder to avoid fluid loss and contamination.
4. Disconnect brake hose from brake pipe. Plug opening in brake pipe to avoid fluid loss and contamination.

INSTALLATION





1. Install brake hose to brake pipe.
Torque: 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.)

NOTICE: Be sure that front brake hose is routed as shown with loop to the rear.





2. Install brake hose to caliper or wheel cylinder with new washers.
Torque: 49 Nm (36 ft. lbs.)
3. Bleed brakes.
4. Check connections for fluid leaks.

NOTICE: Before installing wheels, remove rust or corrosion from wheel mounting surfaces and brake rotors/drums. Failure to do so can cause wheel nuts to loosen in service.

5. Position wheel onto hub.
6. Install wheel nuts and tighten in a crisscross pattern. Repeat tightening pattern to be sure torque is correct.
Torque: 140 Nm (103 ft. lbs.)
7. Lower vehicle from hoist.
