Seat Belt Guide Track: Service and Repair

REMOVAL
1. Remove front seat belt shoulder guide adjuster knob by unsnapping locking clip with an awl.
2. Open shoulder belt guide bracket bolt cover at top of seat belt unit.






3. Remove cover and bolt from shoulder belt guide bracket assembly.
4. Partially remove windshield garnish molding to expose guide bracket assembly.






5. Remove bracket bolts and seat belt shoulder guide bracket assembly from center pillar.

INSTALLATION

CAUTION: USE LOCTITE(R) 242 THREADLOCKER OR EQUIVALENT ON ALL RESTRAINT FASTENERS BEFORE INSTALLING THEM.

1. Position bracket assembly on center pillar and install bolts.

Torque: 40 N.m (30 ft-lbs)

2. Snap windshield garnish molding in place.






3. Insert bolt into cover and install.

Torque: 50 N.m (37 ft-lbs)

4. Close seat belt cover.
5. Install shoulder belt guide adjuster knob by snapping into place.
6. Check shoulder belt for twists and guide bracket assembly for proper operation.
