Transaxle Strut Bracket
REMOVAL
1. Remove transaxle strut, following "Transaxle Strut" removal procedures.
2. On vehicles equipped with a manual transaxle:
a. Disconnect negative battery cable from battery.
b. Disconnect positive battery cable from battery.
c. Remove hold-down retaining nut and screw, and lift off battery hold-down retainer.
d. Lift battery out of vehicle, and place in a safe location.
3. Remove the two bracket-to-transaxle fasteners and remove bracket.
INSTALLATION
1. Position bracket to the transaxle and install fasteners.
Torque: 54 Nm (40 ft. lbs.)
2. On vehicles equipped with a manual transaxle:
a. Make sure battery tray is clean.
b. Make sure that battery cable ends are clean and free of corrosion. (Clean with a wire brush.)
c. Make sure that battery is in good physical condition (e.g., no cracks, or obvious damage) and that terminals are clean.
d. Install battery carefully in battery tray; make sure that terminals do not short against any metal during installation.
e. Install battery hold-down retainer, locking battery into tray. Install and tighten hold-down retainer nut and screw.
Torque: 9 Nm (80 inch lbs.)
f. Install positive battery cable first.
Torque: 17 Nm (13lbs.)
g. Install negative battery cable last.
Torque: 17 Nm (13 inch lbs.)
3. Install air box with three fasteners.
Torque: 10 Nm (89 inch lbs.)
4. Install resonator and secure with plastic push-pin.
5. Connect electrical connector at intake air temperature (IAT) sensor.
6. Install air cleaner housing cover and clean air inlet tube.
7. Connect fresh air hose at cam cover.
8. Secure clamp at throttle body assembly.
CAUTION: MAKE SURE VEHICLE IS PROPERLY SUPPORTED AND SQUARELY POSITIONED ON HOIST. TO HELP AVOID PERSONAL INJURY, PROVIDE ADDITIONAL SUPPORT TO THE OPPOSITE END OF THE VEHICLE THAT COMPONENTS WILL BE REMOVED FROM.
9. Raise vehicle on a hoist.
10. Loosen the two engine strut bracket-to-cradle fasteners to remove any fore/aft preload from the engine strut.
11. Tighten engine strut bracket-to-cradle nuts.
Torque: 50 Nm (37 ft. lbs.)
12. Lower vehicle from hoist.
