Exhaust Heat Shield Replacement

Removal Procedure




1. If equipped with a 2.4L engine remove the exhaust manifold pipe.
2. If equipped with a 3.5L or 3.6L engine, remove the catalytic converters.
3. Separate the first two muffler insulators from the hangers and support the muffler pipe.
4. Remove the heat shield nuts.
5. Remove the heat shield.

Installation Procedure




1. Position the heat shield to the underbody and the dash panel.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice.

2. Install the heat shield nuts.

Tighten the nuts to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

3. Raise the muffler pipe into position and install the first two muffler insulators onto the hangers.
4. If equipped with a 3.5L or 3.6L engine, install the catalytic converters.
5. If equipped with a 2.4L engine, install the exhaust manifold pipe.
