Hood Open Assist Spring Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the hood closure stud.
Remove the stud assembly.




2. Disassemble the hood closure stud (4).

* Remove the disc nut (1).
* Remove the coil spring (2) and washer (3) off of the stud.




Installation Procedure





1. Install the hood closure stud (4).

* Install the washer (3) and coil spring (2).
* Install the disc nut (1).
* Note the basic setting.

X = 43 /-3 mm (1.69/-0.11 in)



Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice) .

2. Install the hood closure stud.


Important: Remember to grease stud.


* Install the stud assembly.
* Lock the disc nut with the stud.

Tighten the disc nut to 22 N.m (16 lb ft).
