Crankshaft Rear Oil Seal Installation

KM-6623 Installer





1. Position the new seal ring.

* Position the seal ring in such a way that the pulse pick-up bracket is over the corresponding cut-out on the cylinder block.

Important: Do not press in the seal ring all the way.


* Slide the seal ring over the crankshaft. Push, until the seal ring is flush and sits evenly in the cylinder block.

2. Using the KM-6623 , install the seal ring (1).

* Tighten the 3 bolts (2).
* Press the seal ring all the way in.
* Install the bolt (3).

3. Remove the KM-6623 .
4. Remove the 3 bolts.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice) .

5. Install the crankshaft pulse pick-up to the pulse pick-up bracket.

Tighten the bolt to 5 N.m (44 lb in).

6. Place the encoder on the crankshaft.
