Rear Seat Belt Retractor Replacement

Removal Procedure





1. Remove the door sill inner panel.
Release the 5 clips (1).
2. Remove the rear compartment luggage shade.

* Disconnect the 2 retaining cords from the liftgate.
* Pull out the 2 covers from the supports, side.

3. Remove the rear compartment carpet.




4. Remove the trailer hitch ball head.

* Loosen the fastening belt (1).
* Remove the ball head (2).

5. Remove the additional storage space under the load compartment carpet.




6. Remove the rear compartment sill plate.
Release the 7 clips (1).




7. Remove the bench seat.

* Disconnect the 2 brackets (1) front.
* Support the 2 bench seats from the rear bracket.
* Push the seat simultaneously backwards and upward.

8. Remove the rear seat backrest.

* Remove the 4 bolts (2) at the front.
* Remove the 3 seat belt buckles (1).
* Fold down the rear seat backrest.
* Remove the 4 rear bolts (2).





9. Remove the rear seat backrest.




10. Remove the upper center pillar trim panel.

* Pull out the access panel (1) from the center pillar trim panel.
* Remove the inner paneling from the seat with a plastic wedge.
* Remove the seat belt bolts (3) from the center pillar trim panel.
* Release the cap (2).
* Remove the upper center pillar trim panel upwards.





11. Remove the rear quarter panel front panel.

* Remove the lower belt fastening (3).

- Remove the lower seat belt anchor bar (4).
- Remove the seat belt with striker.
- Remove the seat belt striker guide bushing (5) from the rear quarter panel front.

* Remove the rear quarter panel cover cap (2).
* Remove the bolt.
* Remove the bolts (6) from rear seat backrest.
* Remove the bolt (1) from center pillar trim panel.
* Remove the front rear quarter panel.
* Release the 8 clips (7).





12. Remove the upper inner center pillar trim panel.

* Remove the center pillar seat belt fastening screws (2).
* Remove the cover cap (1).
* Release the 3 center pillar inner paneling clips (3).





13. Remove the rear compartment side trim panel.

* Remove the 3 bolts (1) from the rear compartment side trim panel.
* Release the 2 clips (3).
* Disconnect the rear compartment light wiring harness plugs (2).
* Remove the rear compartment side trim panel.

14. Remove the seat belt fastening base.
Remove the bolts (2).
15. Remove the seat belt retractor from the rear quarter panel.
Remove the bolt (1).




16. Remove the seat belt insulation.



Installation Procedure


Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice) .

1. Install the seat belt insulation.
2. Install the seat belt retractor from the rear quarter panel.

Tighten the bolt to 35 N.m (26 lb ft).

3. Install the seat belt anchor base.

Tighten the bolt to 35 N.m (26 lb ft).

4. Install the rear compartment side trim panel.

* Insert and position the rear compartment side trim panel.
* Install the 2 clips.

Tighten the 3 bolts in the rear compartment side trim panel to 2.5 N.m (22 lb in).


5. Install the upper center pillar trim panel.

* Install the 3 center pillar inner paneling clips.

Tighten the center pillar seat belt bolt to 35 N.m (26 lb ft).

* Install the cover cap.

6. Install the rear quarter panel front inner paneling.
Install the 8 inner paneling at the front of the front quarter panel.

* Tighten the bolt on the upper center pillar trim panel to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).
* Tighten the bolt to the rear seat backrest to 35 N.m (26 lb ft).
* Tighten the bolt on lower center pillar trim panel to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).



* Install the rear quarter panel front inner paneling cover cap.
* Install the seat belt with striker.
* Install the seat belt strap guide bushing in front quarter panel inner paneling.
* Install the lower seat belt striker.

Tighten the lower seat belt bolt to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).


7. Install the upper center pillar trim panel.

* Guide the upper center pillar trim panel from above in the front quarter panel inner paneling guide.
* Install the upper center pillar trim panel.
* Press in the panel.

Tighten the seat belt bolt to upper center pillar trim panel to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

* Install the cover cap.

8. Insert the rear seat backrest.
9. Install the rear seat backrest.

* Guide in and position the rear seat backrest with guide pins right and left in the rear quarter panel.

Tighten the 4 rear bolts to 35 N.m (26 lb ft).

* Fold down the rear seat backrest.
* Insert the 3 belt buckles.


Tighten the 4 bolts at the front rear seat to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).


10. Install the bench seat.

* Support the 2 seats in the rear brackets.

Tighten the rear bracket bolts to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

* Push the seat simultaneously backwards and down.
* Bolt the 2 brackets front.

11. Install the rear end inner paneling.
Install the 7 clips.
12. Install the additional storage space under the load compartment carpet.
13. Install the trailer hitch ball head.

* Thread the seat belt through eye.
* Insert the ball.
* Tighten the belt.

14. Install the rear compartment carpet.
15. Install the luggage shade.

* Engage the 2 luggage shades in supports, side.
* Install the 2 retaining cords to the liftgate.

16. Install the rear compartment sill plate.
Install the 5 clips.
