Stabilizer Shaft Insulator Replacement (Replacement)

Stabilizer Shaft Insulator Replacement (Replacement)

Removal Procedure

Important: Stabilizer shaft insulators must always be replaced in pairs. The process is described for the left side.

1. Remove the front frame. Refer to Front Frame Replacement (Replacement) (Front Frame Replacement (Replacement))Front Frame Replacement (Removal) (Front Frame Replacement (Removal)) .

2. Remove the stabilizer shaft insulator (1) - left.
Remove the 2 bolts.

Important:
* Never grease or oil the rubber insulator or the stabilizer.

* Dismantled stabilizer insulators may not be re-used.

3. Remove the stabilizer shaft insulator - left.

* Push in retaining lug (2).
* Open the insulator clamp (1) slightly and remove it .
* Remove the rubber insulator from the holder.

Important:
* Never grease or oil the rubber insulator or the stabilizer.

* Observe the correct installation position, line.

4. Place the upper insulator shell (2) in the clamp (1).

Installation Procedure

Important:
* To make sure that the stabilizer shaft insulator is correctly installed, the lower half-shell must be accurately centered.

* The lower insulator shell must be accurately centered between the threaded holes. Use the pressure marks on the front frame made by the old insulator shell as an aid.

1. Position the lower insulator shell (1) in the installation position, broken line.

Important: Use size M8 bolts 40 mm long.

2. Assemble the left-hand stabilizer insulator.

* Place the stabilizer (1) in the lower half-shell.
* Put the clamp (2) ON.
* Using suitable bolts (3, 5) tighten the clamp evenly, arrows until the retaining lug (4) of the lower insulator shell engages audibly in the clamp (2).

3. Install the 2 suitable bolts.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice (Fastener Notice) .

4. Install the stabilizer insulator - left.
Install 2 bolts with locking compound and tighten.

Tighten to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

Important: The procedure for replacing the right stabilizer insulator is the same as for the left insulator.

5. Remove the stabilizer - right.
6. Install the stabilizer - right.
Install 2 bolts with locking compound and tighten.

Tighten to 20 N.m (15 lb ft).

7. Install the front frame. Refer to Front Frame Replacement (Replacement) (Front Frame Replacement (Replacement))Front Frame Replacement (Removal) (Front Frame Replacement (Removal)) .
