Transmission Brace Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle (Service and Repair).
2. Remove the catalytic converter (LE5). Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement (LAT) (Service and Repair)Catalytic Converter Replacement (LE5 With MH8) (Service and Repair).




3. Remove the transaxle brace bolts (1, 3).
4. Remove the transaxle brace (2).

Installation Procedure




1. Install the transaxle brace (2).

Caution: Refer to Fastener Caution (Fastener Caution).

2. Install the transaxle brace bolt (1) and tighten to 50 Nm (37 lb ft).
3. Install the transaxle brace bolt (3) and tighten to 100 Nm (74 lb ft).
4. Install the catalytic converter (LE5). Refer to Catalytic Converter Replacement (LAT) (Service and Repair)Catalytic Converter Replacement (LE5 With MH8) (Service and Repair).
5. Lower the vehicle.
