DTC P0300/P0301/P0302/P0303/P0304System Description
ECM measures the angle of the crankshaft based on the pulse signals from the CKP sensor and CMP sensor for each cylinder. If it detects a large change in the angle speed of the crankshaft, it is concluded as the occurrence of a misfire. When the number of misfire is counted by ECM beyond the DTC detecting condition, it determine the cylinder where the misfire occurred and output it as DTC.

DTC Confirmation Procedure
WARNING:
- Perform road test in a place where there is no traffic to prevent an accident.
- Road test should be performed by two persons, a driver and a tester, on a level road.
NOTE:
- Be sure to troubleshoot first unexpected DTCs previously detected in "DTC Confirmation Procedure".
- Confirm that the following conditions are met in this "DTC Confirmation Procedure".
- 10 V < Battery voltage < 16 V
- ECT >= -10 °C (14 °F)
- 450 rpm =< Engine speed < 6500 rpm (CVT model)
- 500 rpm =< Engine speed < 6500 rpm (M/T model)
- DTC P0102, P0103, P0335 or P0340 is not detected.
1. Warm up engine to normal operating temperature.
2. Drive vehicle at 80 - 100 km/h (50 - 62 mile/h) for 10 min. (Keep engine speed at 2,500 - 4,000 rpm in this step.)
