Curtain Air Bag (inflator) Module Removal And Installation

WARNING:
- When handling an air bag (inflator) module, be sure to read Precautions for Handling and Storage of Air Bag System Components and observe each instruction. Failure to follow them could cause damage to air bag (inflator) module or result in personal injury.
- Do not install side curtain air bag (inflator) module while twisted or bent. Otherwise, side curtain air bag (inflator) module may not deploy and injury may result.


NOTE: Refer to Repair and Inspection Required after Accident before replacing a deployed air bag.

Removal
1. Disable air bag system.
2. Remove front pillar trim, center pillar upper trim/lower trim and rear pillar inner trim.
3. Remove roof lining.
4. Disconnect curtain air bag (inflator) module connector (3) as show in figure.
a. Release lock (2).
b. Disconnect connector with lock released.






5. Remove curtain air bag (inflator) module bolt and remove curtain air bag (inflator) module.

Installation
Reverse removal procedure noting the following points.
- Install curtain air bag (inflator) module without twisting marking line (1) on strap part and part number marking character (2).






- Install claw (1) of curtain air bag (inflator) module to vehicle hole (2).






- Use new curtain air bag (inflator) module bolt as it is pre-coated bolt and tighten to specified torque.

Tightening torque
Curtain air bag (inflator) module bolts (a): 11 N.m (1.1 kg-m, 8.0 lbf-ft)

NOTE: Check that bracket of clamping part to body is securely fixed after tightening curtain air bag (inflator) module bolt.

- Enable air bag system.
