Rear Side Air Bag (Inflator) Module Removal And InstallationWARNING: When handling an air bag (inflator) module, be sure to read Precautions for Handling and Storage of Air Bag System Components and observe each instruction. Failure to follow them could cause damage to air bag (inflator) module or result in personal injury.
NOTE: Refer to Repair and Inspection Required after Accident before replacing a deployed air bag.
Removal
1. Disable air bag system.
2. Remove rear seat cushion assembly.
3. Remove rear bolster.
4. Remove rear pillar inner trim.
5. Open cap (1).
6. Disconnect rear side air bag (inflator) module connector (3) as show in figure.
a Release lock (2).
b Disconnect connector with lock released.
7. Remove rear side air bag (inflator) module bolt (1) and clips (2) and remove rear side air bag (inflator) module (3).
Installation
Reverse removal procedure, noting the following points.
- Lock connector for air bag (inflator) module securely.
- Close cap.
- Tighten rear side air bag (inflator) module bolts to specified torque.
Tightening torque
Rear side air bag (inflator) module bolt (a): 10 N.m (1.0 kg-m, 7.4 lbf-ft)
- Enable air bag system.
