Front Side Impact Sensor Removal And Installation

CAUTION:
- Never repair or disassemble front side impact sensor.
- Never strike or jar a sensor.
- Be careful when handling a sensor so as not to cause vibration or impact including dropping. If front side impact sensor has been dropped, replace it even if there is no defect in appearance. Replace with new one in case of defect such as deformation and cracks.
- A sensor and mounting bracket bolts must be carefully torqued to assure proper operation. Under loose connection, it could cause improper operation of air bag system.

Removal
1. Disable air bag system.
2. Remove front door trim and sealing cover.
3. Disconnect front side impact sensor connector (1).
4. Remove front side impact sensor screw (2) and remove front side impact sensor (3) from front door.






Installation
1. Check that none of the following faulty conditions exists.
- Bend, deformation or rust on front door panel.
- Foreign material on sensor.

2. Install front side impact sensor securely.
3. Tighten front side impact sensor screws.






4. Connect front side impact sensor connector securely.
5. Install front door trim.
6. Enable air bag system.
