Transfer Dismounting and RemountingDismounting
1) Remove right and left side engine under covers.
2) Remove exhaust pipe No.1 and No.2.
3) Remove propeller shaft.
4) Drain following oil and fluid.
- Transfer oil:
- CVT fluid:
5) Remove right side drive shaft assembly.
6) Disconnect transfer oil temperature sensor connector (1), and remove harness (2) from transfer (3).
7) Remove transfer stiffener bolts (1) and transfer stiffener (2).
8) Remove engine rear mounting bracket No.1 bolts (1).
9) Remove transfer bolts (1) and nut (2) and transfer (3) from CVT assembly.
CAUTION:
Be careful not to damage CVT case while removing the transfer.
Remounting
Reverse dismounting procedure, noting the following points:
CAUTION:
Care should be taken not to damage CVT case while installing the transfer.
^ Apply grease to new O-ring (1), and install it from transfer left case (2).
^ Apply grease to transfer left case as shown in figure.
"A": Grease 99000-25011 (SUZUKI Super Grease A)
^ Tighten transfer stiffener bolts (1) in numerical order as shown figure.
1) Temporarily tighten transfer stiffener bolts in numerical order ("1" - "2") temporarily.
2) Press transfer stiffener (2) against transfer and tighten transfer stiffener bolts to specified torque in numerical order ("3" - "6").
Tightening torque
Transfer stiffener bolt* (a): 55 Nm (5.6 kg-m, 40.5 lbf-ft)
3) Recheck that transfer stiffener bolts are tightened in numerical order ("7" - "9").
^ Tighten transfer bolts and nut to specified torque.
Tightening torque
Transfer bolt: 88 Nm (9.0 kg-m, 65.0 lbf-ft)
Transfer nut: 88 Nm (9.0 kg-m, 65.0 lbf-ft)
^ Tighten engine rear mounting bracket No.1 bolts to specified torque.
^ Install right side front drive shaft.
^ Install propeller Shaft.
^ Install exhaust pipe No.1 and No.2.
^ Fill following oil and fluid.
