DTC Troubleshooting

1.
Was "Air Bag Diagnostic System Check" performed?
YES -
Go to Step 2.
NO -
Go to Air Bag Diagnostic System Check Air Bag Diagnostic System Check.

2. Side (rear) air bag (inflator) module check

Confirm that ignition mode of keyless push start system is in "OFF".
Check for proper connection to "L260" or "L261" connector.
Disconnect "L260" or "L261" connector.
Connect "STEERING WHEEL" (1) of special tool (A), (B) and (C) to "L260" or "L261" connector.
Special Tool

(A): 09932-76010

(B): 09932-78310

(C): 09932-75010





Check DTC with ignition mode of keyless push start system in "ON".

Is DTC B1231 or DTC B1235 indicated?
YES -
Go to Step 3.
NO -
Replace defective rear side air bag (inflator) module. Removal and Installation

3. Floor harness circuit check

Check for proper connection to "L04" or "L05" connector.
Disconnect "L04" or "L05" connector.
Release shorting bar in SDM connector inserting release tool included in short release pin (A).
Check the following points.
- Resistance of "A1" and "A2" circuits (DTC B1231): 1 ohms or less
- Resistance of "A3" and "A4" circuits (DTC B1235): 1 ohms or less
Special Tool

(A): 09932-76010





Are they in good condition?
YES -
Substitute a known-good SDM and recheck DTC. SDM Removal and Installation
NO -
Replace floor harness.

NOTE:

Upon completion of inspection and repair work, perform the following items.

- Reconnect all air bag system components and ensure all components are properly mounted.
- Clear DTCs, referring to DTC Clearance DTC Clearance
if any DTC is detected.

- Repeat Air Bag Diagnostic System Check Air Bag Diagnostic System Check
to confirm that the trouble has been solved.
