DTC Detecting Condition and Trouble Area

DTC Troubleshooting

1.
Was "ESP(R) System Check" performed?
YES -
Go to Step 2
NO -
Go to ESP System Check ESP(R) System Check.

2. DTC check

Confirm that ignition mode of keyless push start system is in "OFF".
Connect SUZUKI scan tool to DLC.
Push engine switch to change ignition mode of keyless push start system to "ON".
Check DTC.

Is there DTC(s) other than C1037, C1038 and C1057?
YES -
Go to applicable DTC troubleshooting.
NO -
Go to Step 3.

3. DTC check for BCM

Check DTC for BCM.

Is any of DTC U0073, U0121 or U0126 detected?
YES -
Go to applicable DTC troubleshooting.
NO -
Go to Step 4.

4. Fuse check

Check "ESP" fuse.

Is it good condition?
YES -
Go to Step 5.
NO -
Replace fuse and check for short circuit to ground.

5. Steering angle sensor power supply circuit check

Confirm that ignition mode of keyless push start system is in "OFF".
Disconnect steering angle sensor connector.
Disconnect "E09" connector.
Check for proper connection "GRN/ORN" wire.
If connection is OK, push engine switch to change ignition mode to "ON".
Measure voltage between "GRN/ORN" wire and ground.

Is it 10 - 14 V?
YES -
Go to Step 6.
NO -
"GRN/ORN" wire circuit open.

6. Steering angle sensor ground circuit check

Push engine switch to change ignition mode to "ON".
Measure resistance between "BLK" wire and ground.

Is it less than 2ohms?
YES -
Go to Step 7.
NO -
"BLK" wire circuit open.

7. Steering angle sensor check

Connect steering angle sensor connector.
Check steering angle sensor. Testing and Inspection

Is it in good condition?
YES -
Substitute a known-good ESP(R) control module and recheck DTC. ESP Hydraulic Unit / Control Module Assembly Removal and Installation
NO -
Replace steering angle sensor and recheck DTC. Steering Angle Sensor Removal and Installation
