DTC C1252 / C1253

DTC Detecting Condition and Trouble Area

Circuit Diagram

DTC Confirmation Procedure

1) Clear DTC.
2) Start engine and select 2WD/i-AWD switch to the i-AWD position.
3) Apply parking brake, block wheels and press brake pedal.
4) Place select lever in "R" range, depress accelerator lightly enough so that the vehicle does not start to move, for over 5 seconds.

NOTE:
This test raises the CVT fluid to high temperature. If the engine is shut down immediately after the test, the CVT fluid will remain in high temperature and will deteriorate.

Run the engine at idle for 30 seconds or longer after the test to cool down the CVT fluid sufficiently.

5) Stop engine and check DTC.

DTC Troubleshooting

1.
Was "4WD control system check" performed?
YES -
Go to Step 2.
NO -
Go to 4WD Control System Check 4WD Control System Check.

2. Coupling assembly power supply circuit and coupling assembly signal circuit check

Disconnect "L14" and coupling assembly connectors with ignition mode of keyless push start system in "OFF".
Check for proper terminal connection to "L14" and coupling assembly connectors.
If connections are OK, check the following points.
- Resistance of "A1" and "A2" circuits: less than 1 ohms
- Resistance between "A1" circuit and ground: infinity
- Resistance between "A2" circuit and ground: infinity
- Resistance between "A1" circuit terminal and other terminal at coupling assembly connector: infinity
- Voltage of "A1" and "A2" circuits: 0 - 1 V (with ignition mode of keyless push start system in "ON")

Are they in good condition?
YES -
Go to Step 3.
NO -
Repair or replace defective wire harness.

3. Coupling assembly check

Check coupling assembly. Testing and Inspection

Is it in good condition?
YES -
Substitute a known-good 4WD control module and recheck DTC. Service and Repair
NO -
Replace coupling assembly. Removal and Replacement
