DTC Detecting Condition and Trouble Area

Circuit Diagram

DTC Confirmation Procedure

1) Clear DTC.
2) Push engine switch to change ignition mode to "ON".
3) Check DTC.

DTC Troubleshooting

1.
Was "4WD control system check" performed?
YES -
Go to Step 2.
NO -
Go to 4WD Control System Check 4WD Control System Check.

2. Transfer oil temperature sensor signal circuit and transfer oil temperature sensor ground circuit check

Disconnect "L14" and transfer oil temperature sensor connectors with ignition mode of keyless push start system in "OFF".
Check for proper terminal connection to "L14" and transfer oil temperature sensor connectors.
If connections are OK, check that transfer oil temperature sensor signal circuit (A1) and transfer oil temperature sensor ground circuit (A2) are as follows.
- Resistance of "A1" and "A2" circuits: less than 1 ohms
- Resistance between "A1" circuit and ground: infinity
- Resistance between "A1" circuit terminal and other terminal at transfer oil temperature sensor connector: infinity
- Voltage of "A1" circuit: 0 - 1 V (with ignition mode of keyless push start system in "ON")

Are they in good condition?
YES -
Go to Step 3.
NO -
Repair or replace defective wire harness.

3. Transfer oil temperature sensor check

Check transfer oil temperature sensor. Transfer Oil Temperature Sensor Inspection

Is it in good condition?
YES -
Substitute a known-good 4WD control module and recheck DTC. Service and Repair
NO -
Replace transfer oil temperature sensor. Transfer Oil Temperature Sensor Removal and Installation
