HVAC Unit Removal and Installation
HVAC Unit Components
Removal
1) Recover refrigerant from A/C system referring to "Recovery" in Service and Repair Operation Procedure for Refrigerant Charge.
2) Drain engine coolant. Draining
3) Remove hose bands (1), and then disconnect heater hoses (2) from HVAC unit.
4) Remove liquid pipe bolt (3), and then disconnect suction hose (4) and liquid pipe (5) from expansion valve (6).
5) Remove right side cowl top garnish.
6) Remove nuts (1).
7) Remove center console box. Center Console Box Removal and Installation
8) Remove instrument panel with steering support member. Removal and Replacement
9) Remove nut (1) and rear duct (2), and then remove HVAC unit (3).
Installation
Reverse removal procedure noting the following points.
- Install drain hose (1) so that the arrow mark (2) is positioned toward the vehicle forward.
- Apply specified compressor oil to new O-ring.
Compressor oil: 99000-99022-00E (Compressor oil (DH-PS, 250cc))
- Tighten liquid pipe bolt to specified torque.
Tightening torque
Liquid pipe bolt 12 Nm (1.2 kgf-m, 9.0 lbf-ft)
- Tighten HVAC unit nut.
Tightening torque
HVAC unit nut 10 Nm (1.0 kgf-m, 7.5 lbf-ft)
- Evacuate and charge A/C system referring to "Evacuation" and "Charge" in Service and Repair Operation Procedure for Refrigerant Charge.
- Refill cooling system with coolant. Refilling
