Brake Rotor/Disc: Service and Repair

Removal

1. Raise and support vehicle.
2. Remove front wheel.

Torque Plate Installation Bolts:






3. Remove the two installation bolts from the torque plate.

Suspend Caliper:






4. Remove the brake pad/caliper assembly and suspend it so the hose is not stressed.






5. Remove the torque plate from the knuckle.
6. Pull the rotor off of the axle hub.

Installation


1. Install rotor on axle hub.






2. Install torque plate. Torque mount bolts to 88 Nm (65 ft.lbs).

Torque Caliper Mount Bolts:






3. Install brake pad/caliper assembly and torque mount bolts to 25 Nm (18 ft.lbs).
4. Install front wheel.
5. Lower vehicle.
